About Robert Thyng

Robert started in the industry at an early age. As a kid in 2010, alongside his father, he was helping his grandfather’s local masonry business. Having grown up in the masonry industry, a passion was instilled, “for working with my hands”, says Robert. After highschool he apprenticed at a local landscaping company where he learned a lot about Hardscaping. By April of 2016, Robert decided he was ready to “take the leap” and start his own company.

As the company grew, Robert was envisioning new opportunities. There was this idea of, “creating the premier Outdoor Living space that everyone wants. An outdoor extension of the home where you can Play, Work, and Live. To Be Outdoor. I envision us as the premier Outdoor Living brand, designing your wildest dreams.”

In short order, Robert led his company through a transformation, and formed the new RD Outdoor brand in 2023.

“My aim now for the RD Outdoor brand is to keep, and build on, a great company culture for our whole team, current and future. We are building careers in this industry. Company culture means everything. I take pride in our team and what they can accomplish day to day. There is no limit when you are the best.”
